George Pavlov

George Pavlov is a General Partner of Tallwood Venture Capital and has been working with the firm since its founding in 2000. In addition to serving as an operational advisor across all of Tallwood’s business verticals, Mr. Pavlov is also responsible for initiating, structuring and managing investments for the firm. Mr. Pavlov joined Tallwood from eTime Capital where he served as the Chief Executive Officer. Prior to eTime Capital, he previously served as a General Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Mayfield Fund, a Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Blum Capital Partners, as well as several financial and sales management positions at NeXT Computer.

George Pavlov currently serves on the boards of directors of Alphion Corp., Amulaire Thermal Technology, Astute Networks, Audience, Calypto, Crossing Automation, Pixim, Quintic, and SVTC Technologies.

He holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Boston College.

Bob MacKnight

Bob MacKnight joined the company in 2009. Prior to Crossing Automation, he served as president and COO at Mattson where he spearheaded operational activities, led manufacturing and the product groups, and was responsible for the company’s global business operations. Before joining Mattson, Bob spent three and a half years at Microbar, Inc., where he was president and chief operating officer. He has also held senior management positions with Cymer, Inc., Watkins-Johnson Semiconductor Equipment Group and Eaton Corporation and has founded two startup ventures. Bob holds bachelor and master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts.

Gidu Shroff

Gidu Shroff has 39 years of experience in the semiconductor industry in engineering, manufacturing, procurement, global supply chain management, international alliances, joint ventures and licensing. He worked at Intel for 29 of those years in various capacities. Most recently, he was a senior management consultant to the executive vice-president of sales and marketing. Prior to that, he held the positions of corporate VP/officer, chief procurement officer, VP of outsourcing, and GM of ASIC manufacturing. Before joining Intel, Gidu worked at Fairchild Semiconductor in various positions. He started his career as a process engineer, first with Signetics Memory Systems and then with Advanced Memory Systems.

In addition to Crossing Automation (2010), Gidu also serves as a board member of Astria Semiconductor and MagnaChip Semiconductor. He was a board observer at SMSC from 1997-2001 and FlexIC from 2001-2003.

Gidu holds an MBA from Santa Clara University, a Masters in Material Science from Stanford University and a Bachelors in Metallurgy from Poona Engineering University in India.

Dr. Peter Hanley

Dr. Peter Hanley currently serves as a consultant to both public and private high technology companies. He retired in 2004 as president of Novellus Systems in San Jose, CA. Before becoming president, he served as executive VP of worldwide sales for ten years. Prior to joining Novellus Systems, Peter was a group VP of worldwide sales and service at Applied Materials as well as VP/general manager of their Etch Products division. Before Applied Materials, Peter worked at Varian Associates for six years as VP of technology and as VP/general manager of their Extrion Ion Implantation division. In 2009, Peter received the SEMI “Bob Graham Award” for his innovative contributions to Sales and Marketing in the Semiconductor Equipment Industry.

He joined the board of directors of MKS Instruments of Andover, MA in 2008 and Crossing Automation of Fremont, CA in 2010.

Peter earned his Ph. D. in Applied Physics from Cornell University and was granted a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.

Casey Eichler

Casey Eichler joined Ultra Clean Technology (NASDAQ: UCTT), in 2009 as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He has over 25 years of experience in finance, operations and administration and has worked at public, private and start-up companies during that time. He has proven success in the development and implementation of strategic, operational and restructuring plans. Prior to joining UCT, Casey served as senior VP and CFO at Credence Systems, as executive VP and CFO at MarketTools and as VP and CFO at MIPS Technologies. He has also held management positions at several technology companies including Visigenic Software, NeXT Software and Microsoft.

Casey joined the board of directors for Crossing Automation in 2010 and also serves on the board of directors of SupportSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPRT) and Magma Design Automation (NASDAQ: LAVA).

Casey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. John’s University.

Lionel M. (Lon) Allan

Lionel M. (Lon) Allan, board observer, has served as an independent director and corporate governance and legal advisor since 1992, following a 20-plus year career as a corporate and securities lawyer in Silicon Valley.

Lon has been an outside director on the boards of a number of companies, including: NetLogic Microsystems, Inc. (chair, governance committee); Catalyst Semiconductor, Inc. (chair, governance committee; chair, compensation committee); Galvantech, Inc.; Global Motorsport Group, Inc. (vice chair of the board; chair, audit committee); Accom, Inc. (chair, audit committee); Louth Automation, Inc. and Groth Vineyards and Winery. He has also been active on the boards of various professional, philanthropic and civic organizations, including the Northern California chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (chair of the board); The Harker School (chair of the board); KTEH Public Television Channel 54 (chair of the board); Villa Montalvo (president of the board); the Silicon Valley Chapter of the AeA, formerly the American Electronics Association (legal consultant to the executive committee); the American Bar Association (chair, small business committee); and the Board of Visitors at Stanford Law School.

In addition to board service, Lon has been a lecturer on corporate governance issues at the Haas Business School at U.C. Berkeley; the National Association of Corporate Directors; IRRC; the VC Task Force; and Stanford Directors’ College. He has also presented lectures on corporate and securities issues at the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California, and has had articles published by Prentice-Hall Corporation Service, the California Continuing Education of the Bar and Mathew Bender and Co.

Lon Allan received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1968 and his A.B. from the University of Michigan in 1965. In 1969-70, he was law clerk to Chief Judge Robert Peckham of the United States District Court in San Francisco.

Laura Oliphant, PhD Investment Manager, Intel Capital

Areas of expertise: venture investing, process technology

Laura Oliphant is an investment manager in Intel Capital, where she makes and manages investments in the semiconductor capital equipment and materials areas. She joined Intel in 1991 and Intel Capital in 2001. In 2006, Laura was given the Intel Achievement Award for the strategic impact of her investing activities.

Prior to joining Intel Capital, Laura was one of the key coordinators for Intel’s transition to the 300 mm wafer size. As part of this project, Laura managed the selection activities for about 20% of the fab tools, which required her to interact with the key executives of the major equipment suppliers. In 2000, Laura served as the industry co-chair for the SEMATECH Metrology and Yield Management Tools Program Advisory Group. Laura also played key roles in the Year 2000 transition and in the management of major suppliers to Intel.

Laura joined Intel in 1991 as a process engineer, where she developed a lithography technology that is currently used in Intel’s mobile processors. While in the Technology Development group, she also was a yield engineer.

Laura holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a BE from Manhattan College.
