Bob MacKnight

Bob MacKnight joined the company in 2009. Prior to Crossing Automation, he served as president and COO at Mattson where he spearheaded operational activities, led manufacturing and the product groups, and was responsible for the company’s global business operations. Before joining Mattson, Bob spent three and a half years at Microbar, Inc., where he was president and chief operating officer. He has also held senior management positions with Cymer, Inc., Watkins-Johnson Semiconductor Equipment Group and Eaton Corporation and has founded two startup ventures. Bob holds bachelor and master’s degrees from the University of Massachusetts.

James McCormick

James McCormick joined Crossing Automation in 2009 with responsibility for the company’s financial operations, IT and reporting. James brings over twenty years of experience in corporate finance and operations with companies including Podtech Network, Inc., Serious Materials/Quiet Solution, Perfect Commerce, IPrint Technologies, Inc., General Magic, UB Networks and Tandem Computers. James holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Toledo and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Randy Clegg

Randy Clegg joined Crossing Automation in 2009 as VP global customer operations and is responsible for increasing worldwide sales for all products as well as field service operations. Coming from Asyst Technologies where he held the position of vice president, customer solutions group, Randy has demonstrated strong knowledge of the automation market as well as a firm commitment to customer support. Prior to Asyst, Randy was the executive vice president of field operations at Metara Inc. and president, North America operations at Novellus Systems. Randy holds a BS from Oklahoma State University.

Frank Kohoutek

Frank Kohoutek has direct responsibility for facility management, outsourced manufacturing, and IT. Frank comes from Mattson Technology where he served as vice president of global operations, providing him the industry background and appreciation for the requirements of OEMs within the semiconductor manufacturing industry. During 12 years with Mattson Frank held a number of positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to Mattson, Frank worked for Bell Industries, Solid State Devices, Tritek Engineering & Manufacturing, and Bytex Corporation. Frank holds an AS in Electronics from Citrus Junior College and a BS in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University.

Larry Wise

Larry Wise, vice president of engineering, joined Crossing Automation in 2007 with responsibility for development of the company’s novel modular vacuum wafer transfer systems. His role expanded in 2009 to include oversight of product development for all of Crossing’s atmospheric and vacuum wafer automation products. Larry came to Crossing from KLA-Tencor, where his most recent position was corporate program manager for supplier quality. Larry has held positions in engineering, product management, and operations for Applied Materials, Lam Research, Novellus, KLA-Tencor, and Ultratech. He served as VP divisional engineering for both KLA-Tencor and Novellus. Larry is a member of the IEEE, and is a graduate of Whitman College (BA Math-Physics) and the California Institute of Technology (BS Engineering & Applied Science).

May Su

May Su joined the company in 2009 and is responsible for marketing of all Crossing product lines. May has over twenty-five years of experience in the semiconductor industry, most recently as president of US and European operations for Nova Measurement Instruments. Prior to Nova, she held positions of increasing responsibility with leading semiconductor equipment companies including Aviza Technology Inc., New Wave Research, KLA-Tencor Corporation, and Lam Research Corporation. May holds a BSME from Cornell University, MSME from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Cecilia Hayes

Cecilia Hayes

Cecilia Hayes has served as Crossing Automation’s human resources (HR) consultant since its inception and was named VP of human resources in 2010. She has 30 years of experience in high technology HR, with a focus in semiconductor start-ups. For the past 10 years, Cecilia has been a development and compensation consultant coaching founders and executives, developing compensation plans and performing due diligence for tier 1 venture capital firms. In addition to Crossing, she has worked with many successful start-ups, including Telegent Systems, Audience, eSilicon and Inphi Inc. Prior to consulting, Cecilia served as VP of Human Resources at S3 Inc. for 10 years, during which time the company grew to over 750 employees, gained close to $1 billion in revenue, and underwent a successful IPO. Her first job was at Silicon Graphics at its fastest growth phase, including its IPO.

Anthony C. Bonora

Anthony C. Bonora

Anthony C. Bonora has more than 35 years of experience in the development of equipment and processes for Semiconductor Manufacturing. Mr. Bonora was a co-founder of Asyst Technologies, and as their EVP and CTO, led the technical development of the product isolation and wafer transfer automation approaches that transformed semiconductor wafer handling practices. He was a recipient of the 1999 North America SEMI award for technical achievement and has been awarded more than sixty patents in areas including silicon crystal growth, wafer handling robotics, and factory automation. Mr. Bonora is a graduate of UC Berkeley where he received both BSME and MSME degrees.
