Crossing Automation Wins Repeat Orders for Multiple CrossingConnect™ Vacuum Platform Configurations
Fremont, Calif. – November 8, 2011 - Crossing Automation, Inc. (www.crossinginc.com), a leading designer and manufacturer of fab and tool automation products used by today’s foremost semiconductor device and equipment companies, today announced that it has received follow-on orders for multiple systems from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for its CrossingConnect™ vacuum wafer-level automation platforms. The systems are expected to ship in the fourth quarter of 2011.
“Repeat business is one of the strongest proof points for any manufacturing equipment,” said Randy Clegg, vice president, global customer operations of Crossing Automation. “The initial systems have proven to be cost-effective and that, along with the platforms’ contamination control, particle performance, small form factor, and ease of use contributed to these wins. Receiving follow-on orders clearly validate our novel approach to vacuum wafer handling for semiconductor OEMs.”
CrossingConnect delivers a modular approach to platform development, giving Crossing Automation the ability to offer standardized customization to OEMs. These platforms allow customers to easily integrate proven wafer handling platforms that optimize tool throughput and enhance productivity at a fraction of the cost of developing proprietary solutions. The vacuum transfer module is designed for cleanliness, using brushless linear motors and low vapor pressure lubricants. Crossing Automation implements a system architecture that uses highly reliable linear transfer devices and simplified control algorithms to improve efficiencies and enhance reliability, which is key to enabling comprehensive, flexible, end-to-end automation solutions. All modules and subsystems have been reliability tested over tens of millions of cycles to ensure handling performance.
